HOW WE’LL WORK
How we’ll work. Small, steady steps.
Anxiety tends to grow when we avoid what scares us. Together we look at what your worry is telling you, how your body reacts and what you do to feel safe.
Then we practice. Using cognitive behavioral tools, we take small, planned steps toward the things anxiety has kept off limits, at a pace that feels manageable.

What does anxiety look like in children?
Anxiety in children often shows up as worries that are hard to calm, frequent stomachaches or headaches, trouble sleeping, clinginess, or avoiding school, friends or new things. Some anxious kids look irritable or have meltdowns rather than seeming scared. If worry is getting in the way of daily life, it is worth talking to someone.
How does therapy help with anxiety?
Therapy helps people understand their anxiety and build skills to manage it. Erika uses cognitive behavioral therapy to look at how thoughts, feelings and actions connect, and to practice facing fears in small steps. Progress looks different for everyone, and she checks in regularly about what is working.
Should we wait to see if anxiety passes on its own?
Some worry is a normal part of life, and some phases do pass. It is worth reaching out when anxiety lasts for weeks, keeps growing, or starts to limit school, work, sleep or relationships. A free 15-minute consultation with Erika is a low-pressure way to talk it through.
Does Erika treat anxiety in adults as well as kids?
Yes. Erika works with anxiety across the ages she sees, from children age 7 to adults up to 40. That includes general worry, panic, social anxiety and anxiety after big changes, such as becoming a parent. Sessions are available in Hermosa Beach and online anywhere in California.
