HOW WE’LL WORK
How we’ll work. Skills and self-worth.
ADHD affects more than attention. It can shape how a child or adult feels about themselves, and how a family gets through the day.
We work on both sides: practical strategies for routines, planning and big feelings, and the self-esteem that often takes a hit. With children, parents are part of the work, so the same tools carry over at home.

Does Erika prescribe ADHD medication?
No. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Erika does not prescribe medication. Many families combine therapy with care from a pediatrician or psychiatrist who manages medication. With a family’s written permission, Erika can coordinate with those providers so everyone is working toward the same goals.
How are parents involved in ADHD support?
Parents play a big role. Erika works with parents on routines, clear expectations and ways to respond to frustration that lower conflict at home. For younger children, parent sessions can matter as much as the child’s own sessions, because strategies work best when they are used consistently every day.
Can adults with ADHD work with Erika?
Yes. Erika sees adults up to age 40, including people who were diagnosed as adults or who suspect they have ADHD. Sessions focus on the stress, self-criticism and relationship strain that often come with ADHD, along with practical tools for planning and follow-through.
What do therapy sessions for a child with ADHD focus on?
Sessions for children with ADHD focus on naming and handling big feelings, building confidence, and practicing skills like pausing before reacting or breaking tasks into steps. Erika keeps sessions active and engaging for kids who find sitting still hard, and shares what she learns with parents.
